Description
Culture at the Makerspace
1. Student will be engaged intellectually, emotionally, socially, soulfully and physically ‘making’ your idea a reality
2. student will experience success, failure, adventure, risk-taking and uncertainty to evolve as a self-directed learner to take charge of your learning and life
3. student will actively engage in projects by being curious, experimenting, solving problems, assuming responsibility, being creative and constructing meaning.
Makers Playground:
1. Machine play with 3D printers, laser cutter, CNC to training in the use of hand tools, power tools to get you hands-on learning.
2. Play with Electronics- Sessions on micro controllers, microcomputers, sensors, processing, signal and such alike.
3. Apps-play- Sessions on gaming, coding, hacking and more.
Event
1. Experts Speak: Industry specialists, innovators and makers recognized in the field will periodically present talks, engage in panel discussions and interact with students and staff to introduce them to emerging technologies and work of specialized fields.
2. Creative Explorations: This could range from specially designed workshops on design thinking to hackathons and makeathons, wherein multi-disciplinary engagements will be fostered.
3. Pitches: Students will be given the opportunity to timely present their ideas, prototypes, projects to even finished products/ services to encourage and build in-house start-up ecosystem. Based on the merit and novelty of projects, students will be encouraged and guided by patent specialists to file for patents.
