The Iotlabsu Makerspace in Paramaribo, Suriname, Suriname, is a dedicated innovation centre for students, engineers, and creative professionals. it combines professional-grade fabrication equipment — including 3D printers, laser cutters, and microcontroller development kits — with a supportive community of makers and mentors. The lab actively supports the STEM ecosystem in Paramaribo by hosting workshops on topics ranging from robotics and AI to sustainable design and product development. Description
The Lab is currently managed by Julie Sundar & Theo Boomsma both FabAcademy graduates from cohort 2019, both experienced in building end-to-end IoT solutions. The lab offers training programs for different ages starting from entry-level Inno-Starter towards the Codettes Bootcamp, a 12 month inhouse FabAcademy-like program geared towards women. The Lab also hosts the yearly HackOmation Internet of Things Challenge to engage broader audiences and educational institutions.
