Fab Lab Wgtn is a community Makerspace in Wellington, North Island, New Zealand, New Zealand. it provides open access to digital fabrication tools, electronics labs, and collaborative workspaces for students, educators, entrepreneurs, and independent makers. Members can work with 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC routers, and electronics prototyping equipment to turn ideas into functional prototypes. The space hosts regular STEM workshops, coding sprints, and design thinking sessions that attract talent from across North Island. Whether you are a first-time maker or a seasoned hardware engineer, Fab Lab Wgtn offers the tools, community, and mentorship needed to build, iterate, and innovate — making it one of the most valuable innovation resources in New Zealand.

Description

Think of Fab Lab Wgtn as an invention playground, an incubator of design ideas, a maker of possibilities, a creative ecosystem, and a place that gives anyone and everyone the technology to power their ideas.

Part of a growing global network of Fab Labs affiliated to MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), Fab Lab Wgtn was Australasia’s first and sits within the School of Design at Massey University Wellington.

Please note that under the New Zealand Government COVID Protection Framework FabLabWgtn is only able to operate public open days when at the GREEN setting.
