Located in ChengDu, SiChuan, China, Fablab Swjtu is a vibrant hub for hands-on innovation in China. the space brings together makers, students, and technology enthusiasts in a fully equipped fabrication and prototyping environment. From 3D printing and electronics to robotics and software development, the lab supports projects at every stage — from initial concept to working prototype. Weekly open maker nights, technical workshops, and collaborative sprints make it easy for anyone in SiChuan to get started, regardless of background or experience level. Fablab Swjtu is committed to growing the region's STEM ecosystem by connecting creative individuals with the resources and community they need to bring bold ideas to life.
Description
It offers a variety of self-developed courses, including From Code to Reality: Build What You Imagine and DIY Semiconductor Equipment, and has supported large-scale teaching projects such as From Code to Creation (108 students) and the interdisciplinary course AI and Humanity (100+ project teams). FABLAB SWJTU also served as the fabrication hub for the 2nd UIC Train Rail Hackathon Asia-Pacific Regional Competition, supporting over 200 young innovators from across the region.
While serving SWJTU students, FABLAB SWJTU is also open to global maker communities, providing a cost-effective, high-quality environment for interdisciplinary innovation and collaboration. Looking ahead, it aims to expand its outreach to K–12 schools, promoting STEM education and inspiring the next generation of innovators.
