Located in L'Aquila, AQ, Italy, Abaq Fablab is a vibrant hub for hands-on innovation in Italy. the space brings together makers, students, and technology enthusiasts in a fully equipped fabrication and prototyping environment. From 3D printing and electronics to robotics and software development, the lab supports projects at every stage — from initial concept to working prototype. Weekly open maker nights, technical workshops, and collaborative sprints make it easy for anyone in AQ to get started, regardless of background or experience level. Abaq Fablab is committed to growing the region's STEM ecosystem by connecting creative individuals with the resources and community they need to bring bold ideas to life.
Description
Il FabLab, nato con il contributo della Fondazione Carispaq, ha una nutrita dotazione tecnologica che permette diverse lavorazioni sui più disparati materiali utilizzati nell’arte e nel restauro. Il parco macchine, dell’innovativo laboratorio ABAQ, vede strumenti di digitalizzazione come Scanner 3D a luce strutturata, strumenti da taglio laser e due macchine per la prototipazione rapida: un pantografo a controllo numerico che permette lavorazioni di medie dimensioni su molti materiali (tra cui legno, pietra e alluminio) e una stampate 3D a deposito di materiale che con il suo doppio estrusore permette, praticamente, la realizzazione di oggetti di qualunque design.
L’ingresso negli spazi del FabLab è aperto a tutti gli studenti e docenti ABAQ e visitatori esterni.
Il laboratorio si trova nella sede principale dell’Accademia di Belle Arti, in via Leonardo da Vinci, L’Aquila.
